Halfway through restoring and repairing an old Willson 7.5” Lathe (circa 1920-40s best of my knowledge)
Picked up the old girl from Warkworth and am going through the process of getting her running again. I want to restore all the broken and missing parts myself, as I learn to be a machinist.
My end goal is to have this machine running and to also have a manual mill too, restored the same.
I would like to keep it as original as possible, such as matching the original paint, however I want to try converting all major adjustments and dials to Metric. (Or at least imperial AF instead of BSW)
I would use the $5,000 to buy a second hand mill and to put towards getting the Lathe functional
Also I am only 18 years old, been working on this project for 1-2 years now
