Stubborn toilet flush caked with calcium

Step 1: Dry the Area

Use a dry cloth and paper towels to dry around the flush mechanism so WD-40 sticks well.
Step 2: Spray WD-40 Generously


Aim the WD-40 directly at the base of the flush mechanism and any visible buildup. Focus on crevices or threaded parts.
Step 3: Let It Soak In

Wait 5–10 minutes to let WD-40 penetrate the calcium and loosen the stuck parts.
Step 4: Try Unscrewing

With gloves on, try to unscrew the flush mechanism by hand. Use a wrench gently if needed.
Step 5: Presto problem solved!

Flush removed - now need to grab a toothbrush to scrub off any loosened calcium or grime.
