Sanded, Stitched, and Saved from Landfill

These tired old bar stools were on their last legs (literally!)—faded, worn out, and destined for landfill. But with a little vision, elbow grease, and a can-do attitude, I gave them a whole new lease on life. I combined my love of sewing and woodworking with a few new skills, like wielding a staple gun, to recover and restore them from top to bottom. I used a durable outdoor fabric that’s waterproof and fade-resistant for the seats, sanded and stained the timber legs to bring out their natural beauty, and prepped and sprayed the metal frames for a fresh, clean finish. This project wasn’t just about making something look good again—it was about sustainability, creativity, and giving forgotten pieces a second chance. And thanks to WD-40, not a single screw was threaded in the process!
