Restoring a Greasy BBQ Exterior with WD-40
After a full summer of cooking, the outside of my BBQ was covered in grease and grime and the hinges had become stiff. Instead of replacing anything, I wanted to repair and restore it using WD-40 products.
I used WD-40 Specialist Degreaser to break down the grease and dirt on the BBQ exterior, then applied WD-40 Multi-Use Product with the Smart Straw to the hinges to loosen them and restore smooth movement.
The result was a much cleaner BBQ with hinges working like new, ready for many more cook-ups. It’s a simple reminder that with the right products you can repair and maintain your gear instead of replacing it.
Step 1: Assess the BBQ
After months of use, the BBQ exterior had built-up grease and grime and the hinges were stiff from exposure to heat and residue.
Step 2: Break Down Grease with Degreaser
I applied WD-40 Specialist Degreaser to the outside of the BBQ to cut through the grease and dirt. After letting it sit briefly, I wiped the surface clean to remove the built-up grime.
Step 3: Restore the Hinges
Next I used WD-40 Multi-Use Product with the Smart Straw on the BBQ hinges to loosen them and restore smooth movement.
Step 4: Final Clean and Result
